Record History

  1. Minor Study First Submitted
This pilot study evaluated the use of Clear Hands Challenge!, a digital serious game designed to support surgical hand preparation training in nursing students. Third-year nursing students participated in a 6-week, single-group educational intervention consisting of 18 planned game sessions. Participants' surgical hand preparation performance was assessed in a standardized skills laboratory before and after the intervention using the Surgical Hand Preparation Skill Checklist. Performance assessments were video-recorded and independently evaluated by two assessors who were blinded to the assessment time point. Game-use data, including the number and duration of sessions and technical events, were recorded through system logs. Participants' game experience, perceived motivation, perceived ease of learning, and perceived usefulness of corrective feedback were also assessed. The study was designed as a single-group pilot evaluation. Because there was no control group or random assignment, changes observed between the pre-intervention and post-intervention assessments cannot be attributed specifically to the digital serious game.
