This cross-sectional study aims to evaluate and compare the severity of periodontitis between a group of Egyptian males and females. Additionally, the study explores the association between periodontitis severity and various lifestyle and systemic factors, including oral hygiene habits, dietary patterns (vegetable and fruit intake), and Body Mass Index (BMI).
A total of 380 participants (equal numbers of males and females) are examined to determine their periodontitis stage according to the 2017 AAP/EFP classification. Participants also complete a comprehensive questionnaire assessing their daily habits and physical measurements. The findings of this study will help understand gender-based differences in periodontitis severity and identify potential lifestyle risk factors in the Egyptian population.
